| Our beginning was in 1890 when the family business was established by J. F. Lewis. His goal was to provide quality merchandise to the local community at the lowest possible prices. The store was a "Walmart" of its day, selling clothing, shoes, groceries, hardware, feed, paint, furniture, and even caskets! The second generation owner, Ollie Lewis, eventually took over the business and continued the vision of his father. In the late 40's, the third generation began with J. F. Lewis, grandson of the original owner. As his career began, he saw a need for change and began to concentrate on the furniture business. He worked for over 50 years to bring change and success to the family business. In 2005, the business was incorporated, and the fourth generation continues with the tradition and goals of its founders. Over the past 117 years, the business has evolved into the strong furniture competitor that it is today. In 2006, we were nominated by the Northeast Kentucky Small Business Awards Committee for family-owned business of the year. Our mission is to provide our customers with name-brand furniture at the lowest prices.
